A member asked:

Is it possible to have a problem processing natural sugar?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: "natural" is overdone. The only sugar that we should be eating is in fresh fruit. The fiber in the fruit modifies the processing of fructose (fruit sugar) that is broken down to glucose in the body. Glucose is the main fuel of the brain and its use is complex. Beware of the term "natural" because sugar on its own without the fiber acts really as a drug that excites pleasure giving brain mechanisms.
