Yes: The amount of blood flow during a menstrual period is variable and may change after a D&C such as is done for an abortion. In some instances, scarring from the D&C can form in the uterus which can lighten blood flow and cause fertility problems. This is a treatable condition, usually using hysteroscopy if a problem with fertility develops. The term for this scarring is asherman's syndrome.
