Strange stool object: The first and most important thing to do is to perform an occult blood test. Other laboratory data are useful such as a blood count. Ultimately and entire GI evaluation will likely require upper GI and lower GI studies. Do not ignore this and discuss with your primary physician.

Blood?: Hard to say. Sounds suspicious for blood. If it happens again you may need a colonoscopy to check for bleeding source.
