Superinfection?: This could be anything from a simple herpes simplex blister to a plugged gland that once it was disrupted became super infected with oral flora or staph. If there is swelling, redness, heat and you have a fever or feel ill, you need to see a doctor as you may need an incision/drainage and or antibiotics. If not so much, warm compresses, topical neosporin or abreva may be tried to clear.

Probably not: This was probably a mucus cyst. Please see your dermatologist for evaluation and to discuss treatment options. This way you can find out what is the cause.
