Yes, goiter may: Cause problem with swallowing but other esophageal conditions may contribute- ?Acid reflux, narrowing, diverticulum/pouches etc . Follow up with your dr. Take care!

Unlikely: 1.5 cm nodules often are not big enough to cause compressive symptoms. I would look into another diagnosis, like acid reflux. A good ENT visit will be worthwhile. Also make sure that nodules is followed up on. Gold standard is us guided biopsy.
