Was put on lopressor, (metoprolol tartrate) i have a swollen thyroid, cardiologist didn't really go into detail, was sent with a ecg on, why? language barrier. what next?

Probably nothing: Some people with abnormal thyroid function have abnormal heart rhythms. If your thyroid level is too high, you might have a fast heart rate. Lopressor (metoprolol tartrate) would be used to slow your heart rate. The ECG was likely done to make sure there wasn't another reason for the fast heart rate.
