I hurt my elbow and 6 weeks later it still hurts.the pain can radiate down my forearm and is most painful when squeezing like a handshake.

Maybe ligament tear: I would seek an orthopedic evaluation. Without knowing exactly what happened to begin with, it could be a broken bone that healed abnormally to a ligament tear at the inside or outside of the elbow.
