Screws: I am not sure what the screws are for. If you have a fracture then metal screws are better. Some reconstructive procedure are done with suture anchors. These can be metal, dissolvable or plastic. Most surgeons probably use plastic or dissolvabe.

Either:- 4 the foll-: Owing reasons: 1: metal ones can be seen easily seen on xrays, so if they back out or break, or get loose, the problem can be easily confirmed; while with the dissolvable, the true nature cannot be ascertained. So DX can be made earlier & treated sooner. 2: the dissolvable ones do not need to be removed. 3: metal are easier to work with, than dissolvable ones. 4: personal choice of the orthopod.
