Clarification: Sorry but your question does not make sense. Are you referring to excision of a congenital preauricular pit? This is a pretty simple surgery, but the infections have a small chance of recurrence.

No.: If the surgeon has experience with these, it is a very safe operation. The risk is that of recurrence of the infection if the whole tract is not removed. That is where the surgeon's experience comes into play.
