A member asked:

What can i do for rectal bleeding caused by constipation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You : You may first need a laxative from the drug store (such as milk of magnesia, (magnesium hydroxide) magnesium citrate, or miralax). Then you would need a program to prevent constipation with increased oral liquid intake and stool softeners (colace or others) and increased fiber intake with fruits and vegetable and sometimes supplements (such as metamucil, citrucel, fibercon). Some medications can also worsen constipation such as pain medications and others. If there is increasing problems, then you need to see your doctor for and evaluation.
