Could be either.But: Your question is very vague. There are lots of things which can cause pain in the left lower abdomen. You need to state the duration, intensity, any associated fevers/chills/abdominal distention, blood per rectum, blood in urine, and factors which make it worse or better. You see, a lot more detail is involved. You need to check with your doctor and need a thorough hitory & physical exam.
