Scientific Rx: The parents of a 16 year old with serious acne have a duty to get her to a scientific physician. All acne can be managed nowadays. I'm going to assume that benzoyl peroxide was not a complete success. The physician will decide whether a topical retinoic acid derivative, clindamycin, the oral contraceptive pill, or a systemic antibiotic is the best choice.
