Vaginal dryness: As long as you are healthy, slowness in lubrication usually reflects stress and tension. In these busy times, it may be difficult to really relax--moreso for women than for men. If there are any issues that cause tension between you and your partner, or if you don't really know your partner that well yet, this will also contribute to the problem. Just stay with it and explain how you feel.

You're normal: Its normal to grow through stages before being ready for sex. During the arousal phase you become wet, the vagina elongates to prepare for intercourse and for different women, the amount of time varies. Also, after menopause the vaginal tissue becomes more fragile and less moist which can make sex painful. Don't be shy to use some KY lube or astroglide and to talk to your partner about foreplay.

Lubrication varies: It usually takes signicantly longer for most women to become engorged and lubricated than men. See masters & johnson's human sexual response (1966). [i was medical director at the m&j institute during the 1990's.] ask your partner to take their time. Then both of you could enjoy yourselves a bit more.
