5 weeks bleeding: Miscarriages at this stage in pregnancy are very common. There is not likely anything you did or can do to cause or prevent a miscarriage. Time will tell whether your bleeding will be a sign of miscarriage. Go see your pregnancy doctor to get a blood test that you can repeat every 48 hours to help determine whether the pregnancy will continue or result in a miscarriage.
