How long do you have to wait to conceive after breast reduction?

Breast reduction: I typically would give all of my patients 6 weeks to recover after breast reduction. Provided there are no wound healing issues they are able to return to all if there or operative activities. There maybe feelings of tenderness over the next several months because healing is still occurring after this 6 week time frame. It were to take and addition few months should help.

Very Soon: Once the medications used during the breast reduction procedure and perioperative period have been cleared from your system, conception can occur at any time. To be safe, probably best to wait at least a few weeks. During pregnancy, best to maintain a stable/healthy weight ( under guidance of your ob/gyn) to prevent significant breast changes from occurring. Best wishes.
