Swollen lymph node: Because a swollen lymph node could represent infection that has been filter from the body into the lymph node where the body can destroy it. Massage could then propel & disseminate the infection back out to the body and this could be dangerous.

Bad things spread: You can have swollen lymph nodes from infections or tumors. By rubbing it you may induce spread.
