Confusing question: At least one whooping cough preparation, Boostrix gsk has been studied is elderly patients and found effective in producing protective antibody levels comparable to those in infants. It is also approved for single dose use in anyone >10yr. Whether or not individual physicians use or insurers cover this product is a separate issue.
