It is a cancer: So it can create trouble if it recurs. Therefore you must follow the instructions given by your doctor and have medical check ups regularly.

Worrisome but...: In the grand scheme of pancreas tumors, patients with acinar cell tumors do much better than "classic" pancreas cancers. However, depending on location you may require a whipple procedure or a distal pancreatectomy, both of which can be big operations. There are risks from surgery and risks of recurrence after surgery but acinar cell cancers can be cured with aggressive management.

See below: Pancreatic acinar cell tumors are very rare. If found early, surgery should be performed in an attempt to cure it. If it is an advanced tumor, of if it comes back after surgical removal, this type of cancer can be fatal.
