Is it possible to have carpal tunnel after having a baby?

Very common: When you are pregnant not only do you gain wieght, but you also tend to retain water, this can put pressure on the nerve in your wrist (carpal tunnel syndrome). Wearing a wrist splint at night may be helpful.

Yes: Swelling during pregnancy can cause increased pressure within the carpal tunnels of the wrists. This increased pressure can compress the median nerve within the carpal tunnel, causing symptoms of numbness and tingling in the hand and fingers. I would talk to your doctor about this. Wrist splinting, range of motion exercises, and cortisone injections are options, prior to considering surgery.
