Doctor's advice: It depends what it is being prescribed for. Methadone can be highly addictive. For those not used to taking it, a relatively low dose can cause respiratory depression and even death. I am wondering if you are asking about a safe dose for recreational use, and it that case, my strong advice is to stay away from this drug. The safe dose is the one prescribed by a medical doctor.
