Enlarged blood vesse: An aneurysm is an enlarged blood vessel typically created by a weakness in the wall. The pouching is generally thin and weak and prone to rupture. Think of a tire that gets bubbles in its wall before popping. They can happen anywhere, but aorta and brain are common. They have many causes, but high blood pressure and smoking are often factors.
