Set limits.: If this is someone you care about - tough love. It can be painful to love someone with a severe addiction. Tough love can help you to keep your sanity. Encourage the addict to attend alcoholics anonymous. Recommend that you attend alanon so that you can learn ways to cope and to keep your head above water. Take care.
