See a physician: I would recommend being evaluated by a podiatrist. Diabetic foot wounds can be difficult to treat and must be treated properly. This could include antibiotics for possible infections, prescription wound care products, and custom off loading devices.

Best Practice: Diabetes causes nerve injury - loss of sensation below the ankles.Poor sensation means injuries and problems advance before they are found and get worse quickly. Treatments include sugar control, keep the ulcer surface healthy/clean with debridements, moist wound dressings and absolutely keeping the ulcer away from any pressure. No antibiotics unless infected. An expert wound doc is your best bet.
