Possible trouble: Foot wounds in diabetes are worrisome. While many heal nicely, those that don't can indicate poor circulation, infection in soft tissue or bones, or other problems. Historically these resulted in many foot amputations. Now we can treat the underlying problems successfully. So, if the wound does not heal nicely be sure circulation, infection and other problems investigated. Hope this helps.

See doctor: Agree with Dr.S. Any foot wound in a diabetic needs to be treated seriously to avoid the need for foot amputation. If your friend does not have a doctor get him to the emergency room of a hospital. He also needs to control his blood sugar better.
