Depends: Many things can cause malabsorption, including: gastric bypass surgery, celiac disease, non-celiac wheat sensitivity, genetic differences in certain transporters, hypothyroidism causing insufficient gastric acid, other problems causing insufficient gastric acid, intestinal dysbiosis, etc.
