No: Almost every state has a law that requires evaluation of an individual who has attempted to harm him/her-self in an er or similar acute care setting. Even if accidental, the ems providers will err on the side of safety and bring you to the er, with police assistance, if needed. The er will help get you psychological assistance, if necessary, as well as address any acute medical issues.
