Present from birth: Can affect any organ.Examples: genetic/inherited causes like heophilia, polycstic kidney disease + many rare synromes. Others can be due spontaneous chromasome abnormality like down syndrome: subjects have an extra chromasome + risk increases with advancing maternal age at conception. Can be from an interuterine infection from mother like syphilis. Similarly intrauterine alcohol exposure.
