A member asked:

What are the causes of blood pressure to rise when you get up?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal physiology: When you get up, your heart beats faster and stronger, and the stroke volume (amount of blood pumped per beat) rises. Also, your involuntary (autonomic) nervous system causes your vessels to constrict. The net effect of all those actions is a normal rise in bp.
