How to reduce high blood pressure, even if it runs in the family?

Take care of basics: Generally, what you can do is avoid sodium (less than 1.5 grams per day), exercise routinely (1/2hour per day), and control your weight. Rarely, conditions can run in the family, such as coarctation of the aorta, which could cause high blood pressure. Your doctor can let you know if you need to be checked for that.
