A member asked:

Can people with autism ever somewhat recover from it? i don't mean fully but to some extent can they recover?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Many people with autism make a great deal of progress and can function normally in their communities; particularly if they have normal intelligence and mild autistic traits. We are starting to use the term "residual autism" for these individuals.
