Depends: A spinal block infers numbing the spinal cord as with labor procedures. Most pain blocks are done in the spinal area but don't numb the spine but nerves coming out if the spinal cord or going to joints of the back. These will work if this is where your pain is coming from. However, pain can come from many sites. They are safe if done correctly. Talk to your pain doctor.
