Describe the features of canavan disease.?

Very serious: Symptoms of canavan disease, which appear in early infancy and progress rapidly, may include mental retardation, loss of previously acquired motor skills, feeding difficulties, abnormal muscle tone (i.e., floppiness or stiffness), poor head control, and megalocephaly (abnormally enlarged head). Paralysis, blindness, or seizures may also occur.No known cure at this time. Avery serious problem.

Canavan Disease: Canavan disease is a cerebral degenerative disease of infancy in which the brain degenerates into spongy tissue riddled with microscopic fluid-filled spaces. Symptoms appear in the first 3 to 6 months of life and progress rapidly--including lack of motor development, feeding difficulties, abnormal large, poorly controlled head.
