Two lobes: Bilobar pneumonia is a descriptive term that is based on the chest xray appearance of the pneumonia involving two different lobes of the lung. It could be both lobes of the same lung or on different lungs. It does not tell you anything about the underlying causative organism causing the infection, but tells you about the extent of spread of infection in your lungs.
