I'm sure i have some form of pneumonia (self-diagnosis). coughing w/ phlegm and rattling sound in lungs for past 12 days. can it go away on its own?

Hard to tell: The only way to diagnose pneumonia will be with physical exam and sometimes chest X-ray can make the diagnosis more clear. If it is pneumonia you need to be antibiotics. Please consult your physician to be diagnosed appropriately and for treatment.
