The nature of ulcer: Ulcers of colonic mucosa could be seen in inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis or crohn's disease), ischemic colitis or psuedomembranous colitis. Ulcers of intestinal mucosa might be seen in colonic cancer. Biopsy in time of colonoscopy might be helpful to understand the nature of ulcer. Thank you for question.
