A member asked:

I'm just wondering, if your mom smoked when pregnant does it effect your body?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: The fetus is dependent upon the oxygenation of mom's blood to receive its' own sustenance. Cigarette smoke contains carbon monoxide (car exhaust) and many other harmful contaminants which can slow the fetus' growth.
