A member asked:

Can you please tell me why it'sthat radiation is supposed to cause cancer but the cure is radition?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Both effects: Radiation of normal tissue has resulted in fibrosis followed by some cases of malignant transformation such as therapy following treatment of a benign bone lesion. Further mutations in oncogenes occurs here. When tumors, especially of lymphocytic origin such as lymphoma is treated one can see the lesion completely regress.
