Lyme is unlikely: Lyme disease is uncommon in alabama. If you identified a tick bite before the rash, it would increase the risk of lyme. The more likely explanation is tinea corporis ("ringworm", a common fungal rash). Tinea would respond to topical antifungals such as Clotrimazole or ketoconazole. If the rash is enlarging or there was a preceding tick bite, you should see a doctor to be evaluated for lyme.

Scaling : Ringworm or tinea corporis is typically scaly and red at edges and clear in the center. The bull's eye rash of lyme disease is not scaly. It is a flat red rash and often there are other faint blotchy red rashes elsewhere on the body that move around to different areas sporadically. Lyme disease also rare in alabama. See a physician for evaluation and treatment.
