Exposure to infected: Tb spreads from person to person by transmission of TB bug in coughed out droplets that are inhaled by others. In poor living conditions, overcrowding leads to higher risk fo transmission of infection from one person to several others in their vicinity. Lack of access to health care, timely diagnosis & treatment also increases risk for transmission as infected person is contagious for longer times.
