How to determine if a baby has a concussion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Difficult: Since babies are not able to tell us how they feel or be tested for mental status, doctors rely on observation of the child's activity. Looking for alteration in conscousness, bulging fontanelle, any localized weakness or not using an upper or lower extremity. When very young children have a head injury, doctors will often get a cat scan cue to the difficulty using clinical observation alone.
