Location: Kidney pain is usually on one side only and typically prominent to the side of the spine and below the ribs. Also, kidney pain is associated with pain traveling around to the groin on the same side with sometimes burning urine, blood in urine etc.

See below: While it may not always be possible to tell, certain symptoms are more suggestive of kidney pain.These can be pain with urination, blood in the urine, fever, chillsindicating infection, episodic spasms of pain which radiate to groin(renal colic), pain in the upper part of the lower back. They can usually be sorted out by seeing your doctor. Certain tests like urinalysis, blood test others can help.
