Many possibilities..: ..And your doctor can help you pinpoint the exact one. Carpal tunnel is syndrome where the median nerve becomes trapped in the connective tissue at the wrist. Previous trauma may have caused a nerve injury. You may have problems with your neck and spinal cord, which can pinch the nerves traveling to your arm. Vitamin & nutrient deficiencies may also cause these symptoms. Wishing you'all the best.

Numbness: It means that in some area from the neck and upper extremity there could be nerve irritation causing your nerve to send misleading signals that you feel as pain, numbness, tingling, paralyis among some symptoms. Possible causes are obesity, sleeping on your side, resting your arm over a surface, a turmor, pinched nerve on the neck, among just a few. Needs to see a doctor and get examined.

Nerve irritation: Usually this is from nerve irritation. Could be just that you had your arm in such a way for such length of time to irritate the nerves. It could be a pinched nerve in your neck . In your case it is the nerve on the right side.
