A member asked:

People talk about cancer survival in 2, 5, 10 year intervals. when does the clock start? does it start when the cancer is discovered?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

YES: Sure, a starting point has to be chosen. One doesn't know how long he/she has had a cancer before it's diagnosed. Ergo, we start from the time of diagnosis. Good luck.
