Do you know of recommendations from specific medical experts on dysmenorrhea treatment?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several:: Nsaids such as ibuprofen, Naproxen are helpful for some women. A nice prescription medication called Ponstel (mefenamic acid) is very effective for many pts with dysmenorrhea pain. Birth control pills are first line treatment for this as well, and may provide significant relief of your pain. If no relief with these agents, then sonogram and possibly laparoscopy may be indicated to look for endometriosis.
