A member asked:

Do certain areas of the brain cause small epilepsy-like seizures when they are irritated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Epileptic seizures can occur from most areas of the brain. When the symptoms are limited to the localized areas, they are called partial seizures. They may remain localized or spread to more territory and result in generalized seizures (grand mal). Symptoms may involve motor movements or forced feelings, sensations or thoughts.
