Ice: Remove stinger-scrape along edge of skin with a credit card. Clean area with soap & warm water. Apply ice (bag of frozen peas) in 10 min. Increments; alternating 10 on & 10 off. You can take meds like tylenol, (acetaminophen) Aspirin or Motrin for pain or Benadryl for swelling. Make a paste of 2 parts baking soda & 1 part water & apply. Or you can apply a meat tenderizer poultice to the area.

And depending on certain features of your response to the sting, homeopathic remedies such as Apis mellifica 30C every 2-3 hours may be helpful also.

Hydrocortisone OTC: The easiest way is to apply over-the counter 0.25% Hydrocortisone cream. And try to avoid the wasps, of course... Good luck.

Elevate affected area. Wasps don't usually leave their stinger (as they are not barbed). Once in a wall the stinger becomes lodged, breaks off the wasp and becomes stuck in your skin. If that occur: remove stinger by scraping along edge of skin with a credit card.

Many bees leave a barbed stinger in-bedded in your skin. Wasps usually don't because their stinger has no barb (although it can happen on occasion). If there is a stinger in your skin -Remove stinger by scraping along edge of skin with credit card or other flat object. Take care..
