A member asked:

What to do if i got a meningococcal vaccine yesterday and am wondering if it's contagious to babies?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No Need to worry: The Meningococcal vaccines are made up of lab synthesized material that can trick the immune system into making antibodies. It is not living and nothing in the vaccine would make you contagious to others. The Meningococcal germ itself can rarely infect babies & there are vaccines that provide some protection from some strains in infants. The benefit to infants is not as strong as for adults.
