Perhaps : Most over the counter acne treatments have salicylic acid 2% as their active ingredient. The st. Ive's product maybe scented, in which case it may cause irritation in some people. If it is irritating your skin, you should discontinue use. Otherwise, most cleansers help acne to some extent by removing oil and dead skin cells which may clog pores and cause acne.
