Depends on braces!: If you have clear aligners for braces, you can place whitening gel inside the trays and follow directions as prescribed. If you have fixed/wire braces, then you can fabricate bleaching trays but remember that the area under the actual brackets will probably not whiten and will have to be whitened after the fixed braces come off.

Enamel protection: Is very important especially when wearing brackets and wires. Braces collect food and bacteria - and hard to clean. Flouride will protect the enamel instead of using bleaching material in a situation where teeth structure are more susceptible to weaken. It won't be able to whiten the material that cemented the braces to the teeth so why not wait till they're aligned before you whiten them :)?
