Possibly none: Your psychiatrist can help you with this but i think it might be the case that avoiding or minimizing alcohol consumption is the best idea for a schizophrenic. This is such a challenging disease for maintaining mental balance that anything you can do to help is crucial. This is also true for all aspects of life. Try to reduce stress, eat, sleep, keep in good shape and build strong relationships.

Don't recommend: alcohol use for any patient with schizoprhenia whether taking or not taking an antipsychotic medication.
